Review of mental and social health programs and development of a national framework for future investments in mental and social health

In 2017, the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) appointed HOI to review mental and social health investments, and develop a national framework for future investments in mental and social health. The primary objective of the project was to develop a National Framework that will provide both transparency and simplify decision-making concerning DVA’s mental and social health investments through a nationally consistent framework for assessment and action.

Key consultancy activities included: desktop review of existing documentation; assessment of previous program reviews; consultation with nominated representatives; development of the national framework and underpinning principles, supported by a Toolkit of resources including a Business Logic and evaluation framework template; conduct review of mental and social health programs and test the proposed national framework; delivery of a National Framework and associated tools and templates.
