Evaluation of the In-Home Telemonitoring for Veterans Trial (2013-2018)

From 2013 to 2018, HOI was appointed by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs to evaluate the In-Home Telemonitoring for Veterans Trial. The trial assessed whether telemonitoring using high quality, high capacity broadband is a safe, effective and efficient complement to traditional health services. The evaluation further investigated the potential of NBN enabled in-home monitoring and video consultations to assist in achieving quality of care and improved health outcomes for veterans. 

Key consultancy activities included: development of a comprehensive evaluation framework; development of site-specific evaluation plans, identifying data sources and data collection methods and timeframes; synthesis and analysis of data collected against evaluation questions, evaluation themes, and KPIs; three surveys per participant; comprehensive case studies for each geographical project site; financial evaluation and cost effectiveness analysis; delivery of final report which was accepted by DVA.
