Development of the Sexually Transmitted Infections Workforce Strategy

In 2015, HOI was contracted by SHine SA to support the development of a Sexually Transmissible Infections (STI) Workforce Development Strategy. The strategy targeted GPs, Nurses and Aboriginal Health Workers (AHWs), ensuring they have access to ongoing training to assist them to deliver quality STI services to priority populations.

Key consultancy activities included: rapid literature scan and document review; situation analysis; stakeholder consultations; development of the Project Framework; administration of surveys; analysis of training providers and potential funding sources to expand the training opportunities available to health workers to embed culturally appropriate routine STI prevention, screening, treatment and contact tracing services for target populations; validation of findings and identified Workforce Development approaches.

A final Workforce Development Strategy was delivered to SHine SA.
